Pasadena: Glen Dawson, 1948. Octavo. Item #032634
vi, 17 pages. Joseph L. Meek, journeyed to the mountains with William Sublette's 1829 mule caravan. In the fall of 1831 he, along with Bridger and Sublett established a fur trade base on forks of the Snake River. Arthur Woodward notes the scarcity of information on a figure who travelled also with Bonneville and James Kirker, the scalp hunter of Chihuahua. Printed by Grant Dahlstrom in a very small print run. A very nice copy bound in beige cloth, spine lettering gilt, only a bit of toning to board edges, no names or bookplates.
