While the decline of the Confederate dollars is well-known, Brenner deals with a major contributing problem to the many versions of counterfeiting. Kate Stone noted some were obvious, but many passed creating problems for both the army and the civilians who were facing the decline not only of the nicities of life but food sources as well. A near fine copy bound in white cloth lettered in black, decorated in red and black, a few spots of finger soiling.
