Annapolis, (1956): U.S Naval Insitute. Octavo. Item #031814

xv, 262 pages. A very careful study of the U.S. role in Haiti after World War I but clearly one written from a white viewpoint. While much important data, clearly this was written in an era where the military were whites who were bringing order to the residents of Haiti who needed military control. Bound in blue cloth lettered in red, spine lettering red, some light darkening to edges and spine endpapers are maps with a bit of off-setting, in a very good blue and red dust jacket lettered and decorated in white and black, spine lettering white, a bit of chipping along upper edge, and edge of flap of front panel, some toning to rear panel, From the library of Leland E. Person with his bookplate. Retired Marine Lt. Col. Leland E. Person, served in the Marine Corps all over the world before running his own public relations firm in the Loop. A very good copy.
