Portrait frontispiece, xvi, 273 pages, illustrated with several photographic images. Inscribed Kilner on the front fee endpaper to Dr. Perry Worden (pseudonym-Agua Mansa) author, historian and newspaper man dated Jan. 10, 1928. In 1919, Arthur Letts was a relatively poor European who after some success in Canada came to California where he founded both the Broadway and Bullock's Department stores. Letts then bought "the most sought-after 3,296 acres in west Los Angeles," which became Westwood Village. This became the location of UCLA. Bound in blue cloth decorated in blind, brown leather spine label gilt, only minor spots of rubbing to corners and spine ends. A very nice copy.
