The History of Esarhaddon King of Assyria, translated from the cuneiform inscriptions upon cylinders and tablets in the British Museum collection, together with original texts, a grammatical analysis of each word, explanations of the ideographs. His study in Assyriology began in his early 20's and this work was published when he was 23. Bound in light brown cloth centrally stamped in gilt within a red circular frame, boards ruled in red, spine lettered and decorated in red and gilt, spots of fading to upper board and spine, back coated endpapers, corners bumped, light wear to spine ends. A very good copy.
