Markham, with folding map of Clavijo's travels through the Islamic states all the way to Samarkand. One of the most valuable sources for the Timurid period is the narrative of the embassy of Ruy Gonzalez de Clavijo to the court of Timur at Samarcand in 1403-1406 whose travel laid through Iran. Bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt. A near fine copy.
