A Critical and Exegetical Commentary on Isaiah 40-55 ( 2 Volume set)

(London, 2006): T. & T. Clark. Octavo. Item #031601

Volume I, 368 pages, Volume II, 381 pages. One of the most thorough studies of these key passages in Isaiah particulary giving insight into Isaiah's chapters 56-66. He says authorship cannot be based as multiple purely because of diversity since these flow of ideas at the time written were not thinking critically but of the rich poetic message. After an introduction of 57 pages, he has an in-depth exegesis of Chapter 40, pages 59-134 which will presuppose at least a basic familiary with Hebrew. No marks or signs of previous ownership. A fine set in the original dust jackets also in fine condition.
