Limited to 500 copies of which this is #172, English Language, illustrated by Raul Villegas. The dances are classified under two headings, danzas and Bailes. Danzas refer to dances of a ceremonial character; bailes to those of a scovial nature. Both are translarted "dance" in English. Important for Mexican ethnomusicology with the following contents: Venado y pascola -- Los matlachines -- La pluma -- Los sonajeros -- Los viejitos -- Las igu¨iris -- Jarabe de la botella -- Jarabe michoacano -- La bamba -- La zandunga -- Jarana yucateca -- Jarabe tapatio. There are 12 color plates each mounted to heavy card stock which introduces that particular dance along with musical scores and figures in black and white showing the dance steps. There is a glossary for Spanish and technical terms, and a bibliography. A fine collection housed within a very good cloth folding case with color illustrated pastedown, lettering in silver.
