Atona-Bahrenfelt; (1933): Cigaretten-Bilderdiesnt. G.m.b.H. Quarto. Item #029172

154 pages. Text in German. The most scarce of the Nazi propaganda books in 1933 created by the Nationalsozialistische Deutsche Arbeiterpartei, with text by Wilfrid Bade. Profusely illustrated with color images and numerous black-and-white photographs, printed on cards, and mounted directly onto the pages. Six panel foldout of a Nuremberg rally at rear. Virtually all recorded copies list only 151 pages. Only our copy and the one recorded at Deutsche Nationalbibliothek (Leipzig) have the extra pages. Also 65 of the photographs have color (a process for camera invented by Alga in 1932). Besides the remarkable photographs in the text of the book, there is a remarkable 6 panel photograph of the 5th Party Congress held in Nuremberg, August 30 - September 3, 1933. It was called the "Rally of Victory" (Reichsparteitag des Sieges). The term "victory" relates to the Nazi seizure of power and the victory over the Weimar Republic. The Leni Riefenstahl first film Der Sieg des Glaubens was made at this rally. Hitler announced that from then on all Rallies would take place in Nuremberg (including the 1934 film Triumph of the Will. Bound in light brown cloth lettered and stamped in gilt, spine plain, in pictorial wrap around dust jacket in shades of brown depicting marching soldiers with Nazi flags, some rubbing or wear to jacket with a couple of creases to rear panel and wear to folds of folding plate at rear.
