Printed in 1930 with the plan to issue this special edition of the 1493 volume was one of first printed books aimed at the limited nonprofessional public who were able to read. Most books were for students of theology or the Greek and Latin classics. It is one of best pictures that shows the thought of the Middle Ages which includes items on physiology, astrology, and theology. It includes the Tree of Vices and the Pains of Hell (with particularly vivid designs). This kalendar contains revealing essays on "The Pains of Hell," "The Song of Death to all Christian People," "Four Elements and the Four Complexions," and other matters relating to body and soul. A very good copy bound in beige cloth, spine lettering black a bit of soiling or staining to lower edge of rear board, in a very good unclipped pictorial dust jacket with light finger soiling and staining near bottom edge of rear panel., light corner wear and finger soiling.
