An important firsthand account of the condition of the Irish woman whose wages were too low to avoid malnutrition (one girl for a week in the factory received $1.12 in wages but Dublin's largest factory hired over 1,000 girls but paid the highest wages ranging from $4.15 a week to $10.00 for the most advanced. A foreword recommending the book from Eamon de Valera who was one of the early leaders of the 1916 uprising. Bound in dark blue cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt corners bumped, some rubbing to spine ends. A very nice, clean copy.
