Farah Assemani, clebrant, ninth National Eucharistic Congress, Saint Paul and Minneapolis, June 3-26-1941 where they held a huge parade with over 80,000 in attendance. The goal of Rev. Eid in publishing this work was to enable the American people to understand their Catholic brothers of the Near East. He covers the early history and liturgy. It has been estimated that there are still over 30,000 adherents in Syria. His directory of Maronite churches in 1941were primarily centered in New York and the Middle West though today one of the largest is in Phoenix, Arizona. Staple bound in pictorial wraps lettered and decorated in black, two light corner creases, spot of soiling near foot on front wrap.
