In 6 volumes. Thomas Pettitt in his article on British Folk Drama (Comparative Drama, Vol. 15:1, p. 14-15. Notes that this work shows how in volume VI, the 18th century became the period of the droll, or perhaps more correctly the jig, in the form of a drastically abbreviated stage play. He recalls seeing a performance of a jig derived from The Merchant of Venice and an old gentleman who knew another derived from Fletcher's Coxcomb (p. 326-31); also see C.R. A good working set only with volume six lacking the title page, volume two has title page placed near the end of the book, considerable amount of repair by the previous owner(not professional), Bound in 3/4 calf over marbled paper covered boards, spines gilt but some have rules in gold ink.
