The author has not only provided the records from the 1683 document but shown how William Penn, like many of the best thinkers of the Enlightenment, thought of the Indians as "the noble savage". He described so many details and the index (pages 99-107) help the reader to refer back to the major developments up through 1701. Bound in yellow cloth lettered and decorated in black, spine lettering black, previous owner's inscription. A very nice copy in pictorial dust jacket with a few small chips.
