Limited to 2750 copies. The present copy is #2177. 128 pages, with 12 aquatints. One of the finest color images of Jerusalem in the early 20th century. The later editions lacked the aquatints. In 1919 Bordeaux was elected to the Académie française. This elite group of writers, popularly known as the "immortals," are responsible for establishing and maintaining the grammar, usage and acceptance of vocabulary into standard French. Bound in 3/4 grey simulated alligator cloth over marbled paper covered boards, raised bands lettered and decorated in gilt, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt, minor rubbing to spine ends and a bit of rubbing to joints. A very nice copy.
