In three volumes: 484, 466 and 532pp., French text. Illustrated through out and a few double paged maps showing the early stages of Bruxelles along with its growth. One of the most important histories of Brussels; especially, in the 19th century. Louis Hymans completed volumes I and II and working from his voluminous notes, his sons Henri and Paul completed the work with adding additional mateiral on the period from 1830-1889 in volume 3. All volumes bound in blue pictorial cloth over beveled boards lettered and decorated in black and gilt, pictorial spines gilt, spine have changedf to an even brown tone, all edges gilt, white moire silk endpapers. some rubbing to joints and spines, some scattered foxing to some leaves mostly marginal. A very good set.(additional shipping may bee needed because of weight).
