A Trail of Research in Sulfur Chemistry and Metabolism and Related Fields (signed and inscribed by the author).
Ithica, New York; (1952): Cornell University Press Ithaca 1975. First Edition. Octavo. Item #028942
191 pages. Signed: on the front pastedown; "July 1, 1955/ As a little/memento of a pleasure/visit on peptides/V. Du Vigneaud." He was awarded the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1955 for his work on sulfur compounds and the first synthesis of a polypeptide hormone. It is nice to have a Nobel Prize sign a work with a note referencing his major discovery. Bound in red cloth lettered in gilt, spine lettering gilt, just a touch of scattered foxing to fore-edges. A very nice copy.
