387pages and (35) page alphabetical index, fully illustrated with full page and folding pages showing every part of the B-29. Each page of text is marked Restricted. Copies are uncommon. When Paul Tibbets signed this, he told the manual's owner, he had not seen one in a very long time. He also signed it on August 6, 1945, Pilot though several decades after his ordering the drop of the first atom bomb. "This manual has been prepared in permanent binding rather than loose leaf form to make it more compact, easier to handle and of a size to be carried in the pocket." Page 350 shows the order to destroy the bomb site with the service revolver as well as all the plane's records to prevent it from falling into enemy hands. Bound in brown cloth lettered and ruled in gilt, spine plain, the fore-edge has a snap closure. A very nice copy of this important manual.
