23 pages. Published posthumously. Lambert Wood was an Arizona student at Williams College. In 1916 he joined the Army and by the time the U.S. entered the War, he had risen to First Lieutenant. After leading a series of attacks which blocked the German third offensive, he was killed in action in the Aisne-Marne offensive. Posthumously he was awarded the Distinguished Service Cross and also the Croix de guerre with Gold Star. His professor, Herdman F. Cleland wrote his mother sending her the essay on the geology of the Tucson region. A scarce item printed in a very small print run. Bound in glue cloth lettered in gilt, spine gilt. No names or bookplates. A near fine copy.
