Outside of the fabled game fields of Africa, the world has never seen the incredible herds of buffalo, antelope, elk, deer, and, of course, the grizzly and black bear. Once the white man had modern weaponry, all of that soon changed. This work shows the hunters in the earliest part of the 19th century, who hunted (often with what today would be primitive weapons) and have written of their experiences. A fine copy bound in brown leather pictorially stamped in gilt, pictorial gilt spine lettered in gilt, all edges gilt, housed within publisher's slipcase.
