The letter of February 7, 1893 is addressed to "My dear Chadwick" refers to a sketch based on his book issued in 1890 by Houghton Mifflin. Aldrich was the Editor of the Atlantic Monthly whose most famous work "The Bad Boy" became a theme for other writers for the next few decades.
