The Sauks and the Black Hawk War with Biographical Sketches, Etc.
Splringfield (sic), IL: H.W. Rokker, (Printer and binder), 1887. Octavo. Item #028643
726 pages. One of the standard works on the Black Hawk war with a fair view of the point of Black Hawk. While Armstrong felt it was a just war, he did (uncharacteristic of his age) give the point of the view of those who were victims of the U.S. war. Bound in the original calf, rebacked in brown cloth, original spine label gilt and laid down, cloth along upper joint split, hinges were reinforced, corners quite worn, internally clen without foxing. [Howes A-324].
