 pp (text), 26 leaves of mounted photographic plates measuring approx. 3 x 2 1/4". pp. Frontispiece portrait of Adolf Hitler (short, closed edge tear) protected with a tissue-guard. The 162 mounted b/w photographs (6 photographs on each leaf) that show the earliest year of Hitler's rise to dictatorship. Goering is 100 pounds lighter. Hitler is Chancellor but clearly the major leader with Hindenburg becoming a mere figurehead. There are pictures of Goebbels and Hess as well as the soon to be departed General Blomberg. Besides the Nazi rallies, there are images of the Reichstag fire, the Hitler Jugend, and the book burnings It occurred in Germany during the fateful year of 1933, such as: Adolf Hitler appointed Chancellor of Germany by Hindenburg; the Reichstag fire, the book burnings, and the haunting parade with the banner Gott mitt uns. Photographs numbered 1 to 156. All photographs are present. Bound in original stiff paper wrappers, lettering red, and an embossed swastika on front cover, some toning to edges, small chips to edges of rear wrapper. A very good copy.
