The Montana Cowboy (signed By David Stoecklein)
(Helena, Montana, 1998): Stoecklein Publishing. First Edition. Oblong Quarto. Item #028417
Signed by Stoecklein. 175 pages. One of the scarcest works of David R. Stoecklein. His standard was to get the cowboy right. What Charley Russell did in sketches and painting and later Jay Dusard did on the North American Cowboy, Stoecklein has done in his pursuit of authenticity. He wanted authenticity since he knew that the real cowboy was hardworking, honest and knew how to share the toughest work. He wrote on his search and said: "What I found was truth, honesty, courage and a way of life, a culture that was built on age-old principles. It is a culture where the people lived a code, where people relied on each other for help, support and friendship. A fine copy bund in blue pictorial paper covered boards lettered in white, in a fine unclipped blue pictorial dust jacket lettered in white as well.
