Once elected, the new President promptly reorganized the party (Partido Repulicano Nacional (PRN) and changed the political direction moving toward social and progressive reforms (with the support of the Archbishop). In effect, it made Costa Rica one of the more liberal democracies of Central America. Ex-library copy from the Bibliotheca Nacional Ernesto J. Castillero R. with their stamp to title page and front wrapper, bound in red paper wraps lettered and decorated in black, corners bumped, the number 2153 on front cover and on title page. A very good copy.
