Frontispiece, xix, 811 pages, with nearly 60 plates, of portraits, orders and medals, subscriber's list. Title page in red and black. Includes addenda and corrigenda; indices by medal and officer; lists of military officers, colonels of regiments, naval officers, and officers connected with the peerage, baronetage, and knightage, and an index of the services of naval officers, all whose decorations were in the author's collection. which included 2500 medals, dealing with the Indian Mutiny, the Crimean War, the Zulu War and the Ashanti War. It even details that Winston Churchill was present as Home Secretary when the King's Police Medal was awarded in 1910. Bound in a newer ¾ dark blue polished calf over blue cloth centrally stamped with a gilt medallion, raised bands gilt, lettering and top edge gilt. A lovely copy.
