Each account has the coat of arms, p. 158 in the 2nd part is misumbered as page 58. This edition has large additions and corrections to an earlier edition and became the standard used by noble families in England. While there were earlier attempts to list peeraages, this was the pioneering work on which all subsequent versions depended. The second part assiduously lists the major barons in alphabetical order and provides key historical events in which they were involved including Lord Berkeley, Lord Cornwallis and especially strong on events of the English Civil War and Restoration.Bound in contemporary paneled calf, rasied bands with label gilt, some chipping to spine ends,, joints have been streghthened, previous owner's bookplate and a contemporary name in ink. A very nice copy.
