Laid in is a 20 pages booklet with an English introduction which gives both the history and a description of the 78 plates in the book. Delpech, Professor of Surgery at Montpellier, published a comprehensive treatise on deformities of the bones and joints. He established the tuberculosis nature of Pott’s disease. Delpech did more than any other man toward the development of orthopedics in France. His use of daily swimming to help correct deformities was revolutionary at the time. Bound in 1/4 red leather over light brown paper covered boards speckled with dark brown droplets. A near fine copy with very minute nick to head, housed within rubbed slipcase.
