Delpech, Professor of Surgery at Montpellier, published a comprehensive treatise on deformities of the bones and joints. He established the tuberculosis nature of Pott’s disease. Delpech did more than any other man toward the development of orthopedics in France. His use of daily swimming to help correct deformities was revolutionary at the time.
