Wiseman who had been appointed surgeon to Charles II in 1672, here four years later gave a good account of gunshot wounds. This volume also has material from Severall chirurgicall treatises (volumes 5-7). The original edition lacked illustrations and here the College of Surgeons provided images from contemporary illustrations to allow the serious reader to see the state of medical science at the time. Many firsthand accounts which are both fascinating as well as horrifying as you see the treatment of each case. Bound in white paper covered boards spine lettering gilt, a fine copy in fine pictorial dust jacket.
