Half-title, xii, 339 pages, 14 plates (all but two are tipped in). The best history of military service in the 16th and 17th centuries. It has a section on the Cameronians' defense of Dunkeld, the R.S. Fusiliers 'desperate valor' at Blenheim and the services of the 90th at Lucknow. In addition, it has Sir J.B. Paul's work on the 2nd dragoons, Royal Scots greys; C.B. Balfour on the Scots guards, M.M. Haldane on the royal Scots (Lothian) regiment, R. Toogood on the Royal Scots fusiliers; M.G. Wilkinson on The King's own Scottish borders and A. Ross on the 90th Perthshire light infantry as well as on the Scottish regiments disbanded. Also pages 331-339 deal with Regimental Music. A clean bright copy bound in a modern 3/4 red morocco over red cloth, raised bands with compartments lettered and decorated in gilt, endpapers renewed, scattered foxing to half-title and last page. Housed within a red cloth covered slipcase.
