This copy is signed and inscribed by Carl Zigrosser to Ding (the nickname for Kneeland McNulty who was the Curator of Prints at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He writes: "to Ding with many thanks for his share in this book, March 1957). This work dealt exclusively with printmaking from the 15th century German printmakers to Max Weber and John Marin with the emphasis on German printmaking in the early part of the 20th century. It was only after World War I that the German Expressionist printmaking spread throughout Germany and into the United States. 8 pages are in full color including Heckel, Klee, Marc, Neide, and others. Bound in half black cloth over brown paper lettered in black, spine lettering brown. A very good copy in unclipped dust jacket showing light edge wear.
