). 2nd Revised Edition. 351 pages, index. Printed in an edition of 5,000 copies, it immediately went out-of-print as Gandhi's writings were becoming sought after worldwide after his struggles for India's independence and his assassination in 1948 by a Hindu nationalist. Martin Luther King, Jr. was influenced by his idea of Satya (truth) which was based on the Vedantic ideal of self-realization, ahimsa (nonviolence), vegetarianism, and universal love. These ideals were rooted in the Hindu Upanishadic texts. A very good copy bound in printed paper covered boards, backed in linen, lettering in black, some fading to board edges in gray printed dust jacket with chipping to corners and spine ends, spine somewhat darkened.
