This remarkable story was written while a third year medical student that had a series of short stories which took off making him one of the best of modern writers. He also has become a teacher at the Iowa Writer's Work. The New York Times has noted how the success of his first book led him to temporarily flee to South American since he did not want to become a celebrity just a writer. A fine copy.
