The Physiology of Marriage; or Meditations of an Eclectic Philosopher on Happiness and Unhappiness in marriage ("262 of 1000)

[London]: The Casanova Society, 1925. Limited Edition. Quarto. Item #027468

. Limited to 1000 copies. The present copy is #262. 311 pages translated by Francis Macnamara. Originally published in 1829 when he was 30 years old preceding his 96 novels. This was a satire on marital infidelity as was common in his period of French history but what is interesting is how he considered women's considerations so important for the marriage, he writes: "if her mind has not entirely destroyed by your having kept her in a state of ignorance, you will find...it is still possible for you to be feel drawn to one another from time to time." Bound on 1/4 brown cloth over blue paper covered boards, blue paper spine label lettered in black. A very good copy with just a few spots of rubbing or soiling. Extra spine label laid in.

Price: $90.00
