2nd issue with Braunsworth & Company, imprint with four dots. 96 unnumbered pages, illustrated by Howard Chandler Christy and decorated by Margaret Armstrong. with the rare unrecorded dust jacket in near fine condition and in the original box. Green A cloth, with no lettering, pasted to front. End papers printed in green with a pastoral scene and lettering. title page in orange and black. The poem was issued in 1888 but Bobbs-Merrill wanted a deluxe edition for Christmas in 1904 so had copies available in the late fall of 1904 and had Howard Chandler Christy as its illustrator who also illustrated the very rare dust jacket also Margaret Armstrong did all the decorations. Previous owner's gift inscription on half-title page else a near fine copy with two small stains to upper edge of jacket, in worn box lacking one end flap to lid of box. [BAL 16667].
