This adventure book was aimed at boys in early 20th century America and became a classic on photography in the wilderness. There are 18 photographs of him with bears and other photographs catching them by surprise as they knocked over a molasses barrel or the frontispiece which is described in the account on pages 233 and following. A nice book on how people can live in harmony with bears rather than wishing to shoot them. Bound in pictorial brown cloth depicting a bear with color accents of green and tan, lettering in tan, previous owner's names and gift inscriptions.
