Phillips, Maine: Phonograph Steam Book and Job Print, 1898. Octavo. Item #027314
118 pages, illustrated, with six unnumbered pages on the Wing family, and a poem. The author was in the 3rd Maine and fought in the Wilderness and Spottsylvania. He was wounded at the Bloody Angle. What is fascinating is it shows an ex-ray of the bullet lodged in his lung as well as the x-ray machine that took the images. A very nice copy bound in black cloth stamped in gilt depicting the American flag, lettering gilt, spine plain, a couple of spots to upper board. Previous owner's name.
