The Imperial Edition. 8 volumes in 16. Dupuy's work has been enhanced by the work of J.P. Maffaey, Professor of Ancient History at Trinity College, Dublin. There are over 3,000 engravings and one hundred maps and plans, but many numerous chromo-lithographs. There is a listing of the colored plates and maps as well as an alphabetical index to each of the text illustrations. Its thoroughness is unlikely ever to be surpassed. Bound in red cloth, spine and top edges gilt. A few tape mends to maps else a very good set with clean text throughout.
