Estate of Ross Santee, Works of Art

1966. Item #026175

15 pages of the document prepared for the firm of Pickrell, Hunter, Bartlett & Penn from James B. Boxley of the Library of Congress on the total copyrights of Ross Santee who passed away in 1965. It includes not only his books but also articles in magazines revealing most items which did have a renewal of copyright. It also lists the watercolors and versions of "Dry Washes", "Eroded Mesquite", his many small black and white sketches, all of which have their appraised value. Also listed are his collection of art from Philip C. Curtis, George Bellows, De Grazia and works in process. He also had an Ellsworth Biles serigraph, a Kopta porcelain and a Foreign World War I lithograph. Pages 1 and 2 are original and the rest from the Library of Congress are copies. In virtually all the books and articles it is repeated that the copyright was not renewed although his work remains popular among those who collect Western art and books. Measures approximately 8 1/2" x 11"
