This work introduced American students to the details of physics and meteorological science which was advanced in France and Germany but as this volume was published America science and especially astronomy was making extraordinary advances both in the development of telescopes as well as photographing the planetary system. An important early 19th century work. Bound in publisher's brown embossed cloth, spine lettering gilt, a very handsome copy without foxing but with toning to title page, just a few very minor bumps.
