46 leaves, text on both sides of 13 lines each. Written in a clear naskhi script in black ink, with headings, key words, and markings in red. Undated but notes work was endowed by Muhammad 'Awad as-Saluni to the Great Mosque in the year 1145 A.H. [1732 A.D.] Some worming in margins not extending to text. In any study of the earliest origins of the Koran, there are early commentaries. Ash-Shatibi is still the chief source used by Muslim scholars in their study of the text of the Koran. Bound in a more modern black cloth, no lettering.
