Half-title, 276pp., 19pp notes, (4)pp. publisher's ads. Originally published in London in 1791, this book was sought after with the outbreak of Yellow Fever in 1793. The cures mentioned turned out to be ineffective such as drenching with cold water. purging, blood letting, etc. It would be a little over a century later before Walter Reed demonstrated it came from mosquitos that transmitted the virus. An important book on the epidemological search for a cure of a disease that plagued North America paradoxically that was brought with the slaves from Africa. Bound in modern 1/4 brown crushed morocco over light brown cloth, raised bands, title gilt within one compartment, endpapers renewed, some toning to leaves, a very good copy.
