Pickett's Men: a Fragment of War History

New York: Van Nostrand, 1870. First Edition. Small Octavo. Item #025652

. 202 pages, [36]pp. publisher‘s ads, [2] leaves of plates, illustrations, frontispiece of George Pickett. p. 191-202 lists the general, field and staff officers of Pickett's division. Seven Pines, Fredericksburg, and Gettysburg. As Garry Galligher has noted Harrison was Pickett's inspector-general and he had access to information not available elsewhere (which is why Mrs. Pickett's memoir was largely plagiarized from this work). Bound in maroon pictorial gilt cloth, rebacked in maroon cloth preserving the original gilt spine label, endpapers renewed, some spots of fading, previous owner’s name to upper margin of title page. A very good copy.
