(Espernza Raswan, Santa Barbara. 1967). Limited Edition. Octavo. Item #025401
Limited to 1000copies. 102 pages. OCLC reports six copies in Libraries. Prior to the end of World War II, Raswan wrote a series of articles on the Arabian horse for Western Horseman magazine. Shortly following his death in 1966, his friend and disciple, Alice Payne, collected these articles which she reprinted for the benefit of his family. The articles were influential in preserving the classic type of Arabian horse. They remain very readable, full of fact and the romance of Arabian horse breeding. Raswan's later positions on Arabian breeding can more readily be found in his books The Raswan Index and The Arab and His Horse. Besides the technical articles, there is a very nice one entitled: "The Arabian as Your Friend and Companion." Photographs throughout. Original and only paper issue in plain dark yellow wrappers with yapped edges showing just a bit of wear.
