The Four Ages of Tsurai; a Documentary History of the Indian Village on Trinidad Bay

Berkeley: University of California Press, 1952. First Edition. Octavo. Item #025396

207 pages, notes, appendix, translation of Spanish documents by Donald C. Cutter. Heizer and Mills have demonstrated here that when archaeology and history are interwoven, we often find a much deeper benefit than to see the subjects within each discipline in a narrow sense. Here they deal with the early (perhaps primitive) approaches to the materials and then integrates the descriptions of Hezeta, Bodega y Quadra, and Vancouver to great benefit. What began as a small study shows a much wider view of west Indians. Bound in light brown cloth lettered in red, spine lettering red. A very good copy which leans just a bit in unclipped pictorial dust jacket with a bit of wear along the upper edge.

Price: $35.00
