South Pasadena: Langstaff Publications, 1976. Limited Edition. Small Octavo. Item #025172
. 170 pages. Signed and Limited #138 of 300 copies. The author is best-known for his translations of Japanese and Chinese love poems; however, he was in Seoul and found Chinese poems composed in traditional style by Korean women. These songs deal with love in a sad refrain and the mental suffering which follows. These 170 poems are beautiful and Professor Levy notes they are not erotic but reflective of the deepest levels of love both unrequited and as a source if disappointment. Bound in green paper wraps lettered in black, spine lettering black, spine sunned, light crease to rear panel.
