This directory shows some of the tractors, truck and trailers which were the instruments not just of farming but now of the major construction taking place across the Phoenix metropolitan area. The O.S. Stapley Company was founded in Mesa in 1895. After a brief partnership with Hunsaker, he expanded from Mesa to Phoenix, Glendale, Chandler and Buckeye. In the 1941 Phoenix City Directory he is listed as the Chairman of the Board, while three other family members were also operating the five stores under him. Bound in green stiff paper wraps lettered in black. Minor shelf wear and soiling. A very good copy.
