43p. A very scarce children's work which was a parody of Alice Hegan Rice's Mrs. Wiggs and the Cabbage Patch (1903) [Here he uses the name Mrs. Figgs]. . Her primary illustrator was Clifford.K. Berryman was a well-known political cartoonist for the Washington Post who created in 1902 the "Teddy Bear" based upon Teddy Roosevelt Though this became an item that was made into millions of teddy bears, he never copyrighted his creation so never made the fortune that could have been his. He did win a Pulitzer Prize later in his career in 1944. Jean Wilson dedicated this humorous book to her nephews who she adds: "taught me the art of 'gittin' aplenty while you're agittin. Only recorded copies at the Library of Congress and the University of Alabama. Bound in green pictorial cloth depicting a girl in a red dress with a chair behinder, gilt lettering. Only minor spots of soiling or staining, with off setting to title page and flyleaf from paper. Very nice.
