London; (1953): Gerald Duckworth & Co. Octavo. Item #025004
Revised edition. 172p. index, notes. George Tyrrell who began as an electrical engineer was struck by well attested cases of appeartions, hauntings, and similar supernormal phenomena which he found in the files of the Society for Psychical Research. The preface by Professor H.H. Price who was the Wykeham Professor of Logic at the the University of Oxford began with serious questions but found there was much to his methodology that was indeed logical though he himself was not ready to follow the conclusions of Tyrrell. The German scholars who read his work distinguish between hauntings of a discarnate fromer human that may only last for a few weeks and the literary "ghost". A remarkable good in near fine condition. A near bound in blue cloth, spine lettering gilt in fine unclipped dust jacket with od price sticker over original price.
