Foreword by Owen Wister. The Kolb brothers were not the first to travel through the Grand Canyon but made their living taking photographs of its beauty. They ran a pioneering photography and film business on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon from 1903 to 1976. Interestingly, they hiked or ran down to Indian Gardens to develop and deliver the prints by the time the tourists returned. They captured their 101 days running the Colorado River on film with a motion-picture camera, Ellsworth and Emery revealed images that few had dreamed of. A near fine copy bound in dark blue cloth lettered and decorated in brown and gilt with a beautiful color pastedown image of the Grand Canyon, spine lettering and top edge gilt.
